This bedroom makeover was achieved by joining two small bedrooms together to create one large suite. The dormer windows and ceiling angles were a major inhibiting factor in the overall feeling of space. We removed all ceiling mouldings and square stopped to reduce the emphasis on the angles and the walls and ceilings were then painted the same colour so to make the space feel larger and lighter.
The built in cabinetry in the robe was built to tie into the colonial inspired house, and we also used mirrors instead of glass in the cabinet doors to reflect light and double as dressing room mirrors.
The furnishing was selected to feel natural and earthy while being practical and comfortable but with an undeniable sense of decadence.
